Summary

With his passion for romance novels, it was only a matter of time before Vlad took up the pen to write a novel the Bromance Book Club would swoon over。

Elena Konnikova has lived her entire adult life in the shadows。 As the daughter of a Russian journalist who mysteriously disappeared after speaking out against government corruption, she escaped danger the only way she knew how。 She agreed to marry her childhood friend, Vladimir, and move to the United States, where he is a professional hockey player in Nashville。

Vlad, aka The Russian, thought he could be content with his marriage of convenience。 But after four years, it's become too difficult to continue in a one-sided relationship。 He joined the Bromance Book Club to learn how to make his wife love him, but all he's learned is that he deserves more。 He's ready to create his own sweeping romance--both on and off the page。

The Bros are unwilling to let Vlad forgo true love--and this time they're not operating solo。 They join forces with Vlad's senior citizen neighbors, a group of meddling widows who call themselves The Loners。 Just when things finally look promising, the danger from Elena's past life intrudes, and the book club will face their first-ever life-or-death grand gesture as they race to a happy ever after。

Finally, the Russian's story! If you've been reading this series, you've probably been waiting for this & let me tell you it does not disappoint。 It has it all, humor, friendship (new and old), and a love story between childhood friends。 At first I wasn't sure I was going to like Elena because of how she treated Vlad when he reached out to her about making their marriage more than a marriage of convenience, but as the story progressed and you realized her drive to find out what happened to her f Finally, the Russian's story! I loved everything about this funny romance novel!Vlad, The Russian, is a sympathetic and charming hero。 His tender feelings, love of animals, and dedication to his wife Elena make him the perfect hero。 He is even writing his own romance novel! Another great entry into the Bromance Book Club series! Loved that the Russian got his own story!! This one was pretty good, and I loved seeing the bookclub guys and the wives in this one! Also loved the neighbor ladies! I'm not huge into friends to lovers, but still enjoyed this one。 It had a fun background story for Elena and Vlad。 I think my favorite scenes were the bathtub scenes and those with The Cheese Man。 Definitely had some laugh out loud moments。 I really hope Colton gets the next book! I absolutely adore this series and will read pretty much anything the author feels like writing but I have to confess that even I had my doubts about "the Russian" getting his own story。 He was probably best known for his digestive difficulties in previous books, something that didn't exactly scream romantic hero to me。 He certainly wasn't on my list of potential book boyfriends。 Honestly though I think this could be my favourite book in the series so far (sorry Mack)。 It's sweet, it's funny and I absolutely adore this series and will read pretty much anything the author feels like writing but I have to confess that even I had my doubts about "the Russian" getting his own story。 He was probably best known for his digestive difficulties in previous books, something that didn't exactly scream romantic hero to me。 He certainly wasn't on my list of potential book boyfriends。 Honestly though I think this could be my favourite book in the series so far (sorry Mack)。 It's sweet, it's funny and I literally couldn't stop reading it。Vlad (aka the Russian) turned out to be the perfect hero。 He is a hopeless romantic, gentle, kind, funny, sweet and loves animals。 Those digestive issues that plagued him are dealt with very quickly and cleverly by the author in the first few pages of the book clearing the way for him to go after his happy ever after。And what a story he gets。 This book combined so many of my favourite romance tropes。 Fake relationship, friends to lovers, second chance romance and a few others I won't go into for spoilery reasons。 Yes it is incredibly frustrating to read at times, yet again a simple conversation could have resolved everything much sooner, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as satisfying a read。Elena, Vlads "wife" and romantic interest in the story took a little bit of time to warm up to。 I'm struggling to put my finger on why but I guess she seemed somewhat distant and a little cold at the start。 。。。more

She wants to keep walking away and acting like a child? Let her。 She refuses over and over to speak about her feelings? Let her。 She wants to risk her life and their safety for news she’s know for a long time but refuses to accept and get over? Fucking let her。 But why are we blaming Vlad for her choices? For giving her an ultimatum that she doesn’t even deserve after she’s already been given chance after chance after chance?Plus, Lyssa Kay Adams literally needs to stop with these side plots that literally are so random, so barely covered, so completely pointless。 In book two, it was the sexual assault trauma and cases and the two main characters trying to solve that AND their own relationship problems。 In book three it was the father and the organ donor business, and now it’s a Russian reporter-father gone missing and a woman stuck trying to find truth。 SNOOZE。 If it were for Vlad, the rating would be so much lower but holy cow did I love him。 。。。more

Thank you NetGalley for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review。 I have to be honest, this wasn't my favorite in the series, it was a quick read and I breezed through it but I wasn't obsessed。 I still think the first few books in this series were the best and they've kind of fallen off as it has gone on。 This was childhood friends/marriage of convenience and although I adore these characters and the humor everything about this one felt a little bit predictable and easy。 I didn't feel the ten Thank you NetGalley for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review。 I have to be honest, this wasn't my favorite in the series, it was a quick read and I breezed through it but I wasn't obsessed。 I still think the first few books in this series were the best and they've kind of fallen off as it has gone on。 This was childhood friends/marriage of convenience and although I adore these characters and the humor everything about this one felt a little bit predictable and easy。 I didn't feel the tension in the conflict and the last few chapters just felt like an easy way to create some hype/action。 It all just felt a little too easy and in the end I just felt a bit bored。 Not to say that the writing was bad, I love the cast of characters, and I always get a good laugh out of the banter but this romance just wasn't for me。 Overall, not terrible but not nearly my favorite。 。。。more

The Russian getting his own book was cause for celebration since, his unfortunate gastrointestinal distress aside, he was the most emotionally mature of the Bros in this romance series。 While I eventually got to enjoy his HEA, I did struggle to get there with him。 Now, I can down with unrequited longing in romances and there’s plenty to be had here。 I just wish it flowed a little better than it did。 But I’ll tell you why - the story hinges greatly on miscommunication or no communication at all, The Russian getting his own book was cause for celebration since, his unfortunate gastrointestinal distress aside, he was the most emotionally mature of the Bros in this romance series。 While I eventually got to enjoy his HEA, I did struggle to get there with him。 Now, I can down with unrequited longing in romances and there’s plenty to be had here。 I just wish it flowed a little better than it did。 But I’ll tell you why - the story hinges greatly on miscommunication or no communication at all, which is one of my great pet peeves。 When obstacles could be resolved with one good conversation, that’s not my fave。 The story drags a lot in the beginning and when the story begins, the chemistry is subtle, at best。 The walls between Vlad and Elena are huge and I struggled to connect to either of them without wanting to slap them both upside the head。 The suspense portion of this plot was a thin thread that felt obviously inserted strictly for tension。 It could have been completely removed and their emotional issues been enough to drive the narrative。 But to end on a positive note, what truly saved this book for me was the friendships。 The men correcting themselves when toxic masculinity reared its head, really were shining moments and their bond grows deeper with each book。 New friends join the party, though clearly to give some chance for a continuation to this series, and they helped liven up this tale。 This may not be my fave entry, but the friendships are what’s keeping me coming back for more。 I’d recommend it for fans of the series and for those who don’t mind Big Mis type obstacles in their romances。 。。。more

I‘ve been looking forward to reading Vlad’s - aka the russain’s - book ever since the very first book in this wonderful series。 I never thought he would actually get a book so the day that Lyssa Kay Adams finally announced that he was getting his own book, I’ve been counting down the days until I finally got my hands on it! I always knew that there were deeper layers to unravel when it came to Vlad and that whilst he was initially a comic relief type character, there was just something there。 So I‘ve been looking forward to reading Vlad’s - aka the russain’s - book ever since the very first book in this wonderful series。 I never thought he would actually get a book so the day that Lyssa Kay Adams finally announced that he was getting his own book, I’ve been counting down the days until I finally got my hands on it! I always knew that there were deeper layers to unravel when it came to Vlad and that whilst he was initially a comic relief type character, there was just something there。 Something that sparked in me and told me that there’s more to him than what meets the eyes。 And God, was I right。 From the very beginning of the book, the prologue, I found myself already hooked。 As soon as Netgalley approved my request for the arc, I immediately put my phone on silent and dove in because I knew I wanted nothing more than to just consume this book in one sitting。 We are immediately thrown into the story and we learn so much about Vlad and his relationship with Elena (and also his digestive issues) right off the bat。 This sets up the events that transpire in the rest of the book。 Vlad truly is a gentle giant who will forever hold a piece of my heart。 He is hands down one of my all-time favourite fictional characters and there simply aren’t enough words to describe how much I love his soft soul。 Elena is a beautifully strong-headed woman and I admired her courage and determination to chase the answers she’s been looking for her whole life。 And the boys! Oh, the boys。 Each one of the bromance book club members has his own personality and I cannot wait to delve into the story of whoever is next in line (fingers crossed it’s the character I think it is!)。 And a new addition to this book, the Loners, a group of widowed elderly women who played a huge role in helping Elena and Vlad come back together stronger than ever, just upped the level of comedy and drama。 I will always look forward to whatever Lyssa releases in the future but I truly hope she is not yet finished exploring this world and it’s amazing cast of characters。Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an arc for one of my most anticipated releases of this year! 。。。more

3。5 starsWhile I'm a fan of this series, I was a little nervous to read the Russian's book。 Honestly, most of what I know about him from the previous books is that he has some uncomfortable reactions to dairy and is emotional。 But my unease going in quickly dissipated with the explanation for Vlad Konnikov's bathroom issues, making it a non-issue in this story。 Phew!Anywho, this book centers on Vlad and his marriage to Elena Konnikova, a marriage that was anything but romantic。 However, things c 3。5 starsWhile I'm a fan of this series, I was a little nervous to read the Russian's book。 Honestly, most of what I know about him from the previous books is that he has some uncomfortable reactions to dairy and is emotional。 But my unease going in quickly dissipated with the explanation for Vlad Konnikov's bathroom issues, making it a non-issue in this story。 Phew!Anywho, this book centers on Vlad and his marriage to Elena Konnikova, a marriage that was anything but romantic。 However, things change for the couple when Vlad is injured, and Elena begins to take care of them。 For the first time, it seems, the two are forced to confront their discomfort around one another, and how they both wish there was something more between them。 I loved the sweet innocence they both had and how the book club, along with some nosy neighbors known as the Loners, helped bring them back together。Although this book had some lighter moments involving the Loners and the mysterious "Cheese Man", the pace of the story seemed a little slower than the other books and wasn't as compelling。 The story does pick up in the second half of the book, so if you have similar thoughts as I did about the first half of the book, be patient。 Given how much Colton Wheeler, one of the book club men, is featured in this book, I sure hope his story is next, with perhaps, an older woman 。 。 。 (one can dream)。For more reviews, visit *An ARC was received via NetGalley for an honest review。 。。。more

DNF at 51%Y'all, no one is more disappointed than me! I've really loved previous installments in this series but Isn't It Bromantic? just was not working for me。 This is the story of Vlad (the Russian) and his sort of wife Elena。 They are childhood friends who got married for visa purposes, so it's a marriage of convenience even though they secretly have feelings for each other。 I'll be honest, I wasn't feeling this for awhile, but I kept hoping it would get better。 At the halfway point, I just DNF at 51%Y'all, no one is more disappointed than me! Short Review: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!Long Review: I've been a huge fan of the Bromance series starting from book one。 I may have squealed in delight when I found out the Russian was going to get his own story。 From the beginning, he has been one of my favorite characters。 So, all that said, this one was one of my most anticipated reads of 2021。 Did it live up to the hype I already assigned it? Hell yes it did。 I absolutely loved it。 You see, Vlad has a tiny secret。 His marriage isn't what his friends think it is。 It's falling apart。 Vlad doesn't want to admit it, but he needs his fellow Bromance-ers help asap。 Of course they are up for the challenge。 Lovable and hilarious antics soon follow involving relationship advice, writing advice, and a dark underground drug。。。。。。。er cheese house。Seriously, get this one on your must read list! All the stars and all the love。 。。。more

The Bromance series been an auto-buy series for me ever since reading ‘The Bromance Bookclub’, because I absolutely love the novel concept of a group of guys reading romance novels to solve relationship problems。 ‘Isn’t it Bromantic?’ brings the story of the Russian, Vlad, who appeared in previous books as one of the members of the book club, mainly delivering heavily accented one-liners and an outlet for toilet humour。Vlad and Elena are two childhood friends trapped in a marriage of convenience The Bromance series been an auto-buy series for me ever since reading ‘The Bromance Bookclub’, because I absolutely love the novel concept of a group of guys reading romance novels to solve relationship problems。 ‘Isn’t it Bromantic?’ brings the story of the Russian, Vlad, who appeared in previous books as one of the members of the book club, mainly delivering heavily accented one-liners and an outlet for toilet humour。Vlad and Elena are two childhood friends trapped in a marriage of convenience, which is on the verge of breakdown。 When Vlad gets injured in a hockey game, instead of returning to Russia, Elena moves back in with him to care for him。 The chemistry and connection between the two is sizzling, but both have to overcome their insecurities and learn to communicate with each other。 I liked how they often automatically switched to Russian when talking to each other, as it’s something typical for bi- or multilingual people。 The Loners were an entertaining new addition; Vlad’s group of singletons offered support and advice to Elena in the same style the wives and girlfriends of the Bromance boys have done in previous books。 I also liked that the romance included this time was the book Vlad was in the process of writing, rather than a romance novel they were all reading。 They Bromance boys were definitely entertaining as budding editors。Even though Elena’s backstory touches on problematic social issues, the book was overall a very light read, perfect for the summer holidays。 An absolute feel-good romance with plenty of heart, laugh-out-loud scenes, and vulnerable yet strong characters。 I couldn’t put this book down and ended up finishing it in one sitting, reading late into the night。Thank you to NetGalley and Headline Eternal for sending me an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

4。5 stars - I think I found my new favorite book in this series, yalI。 I absolutely loved reading the Russian’s story! Vlad is such a soft-hearted emotional man and I adore him。 The Bromance is just as cheesy and over the top as before but I find it so fun。Thank you Berkley Romance for the arc!

3。5 starsWhile I've enjoyed the series,  I haven't been as in love as others with it。 However,  Vlad was by far my favorite character who's story I was dying for the most。 There's a lot that really works in this book。 Vlad and Elena have fabulous chemistry。  It's a slow burn, we're talking no naked time until the last quarter of the book。 There is great tension and  moments leading up to it。 That being said,  there were an element I hated。  I know hate is strong, but I feel it's warranted。 It's 3。5 starsWhile I've enjoyed the series,  I haven't been as in love as others with it。 However,  Vlad was by far my favorite character who's story I was dying for the most。 There's a lot that really works in this book。 Vlad and Elena have fabulous chemistry。  It's a slow burn, we're talking no naked time until the last quarter of the book。 There is great tension and  moments leading up to it。 That being said,  there were an element I hated。  I know hate is strong, but I feel it's warranted。 It's broght up at the beginning of the book, Vlad has IBS and is allergic to gluten, which is why in books 1-3 he was the butt of every joke for ruining bathrooms。 His book opens with him explaining his diagnosis and his relief of finally having answers。 Vlad then expands on it by saying how it hurt to be teased about something he couldn't control, which he now knows is a chronic illness, and I felt kind of icky about all the jokes at his expense in previous books。 So, you'd think there's no more jokes? NOPE。 The guys still make small jabs and "remember when" jokes and I'm not here for it。  Chronic illness isn't a joke, and having a character admit it hurts, but continue the gag? It's a no from me。 。。。more

Another fantastic hit in the Bromance Book Club series。 What can I say about a book that hits all the marks? It's funny, heart-warming, sticks to the rom/com tropes, sexy, and has happy ending。 The book club guys are back and just as silly。 They've been learning from the manuals and don't spend much time discussing what they've learned from them (which is what I love about these books)。 Looking forward to Malcolm's book。 That's next, right?Perfect book for someone looking for a modern, funny rom Another fantastic hit in the Bromance Book Club series。 What can I say about a book that hits all the marks?
